Wizards, aliens and robots are all set to descend on The International Centre on 20 February, as the venue once more plays host to the amazing Midlands MCM Expo. Having seen attendance soar to record levels in 2009, the organisers are pulling out all the stops to ensure that this year's show is bigger and better than ever! Oh, and did we mention that kids get in free!?*
Topping the bill at the upcoming Expo are two stars of the magical Harry Potter movies. Matthew Lewis, who plays Harry's loyal supporter and Herbology expert Neville Longbottom, and Warwick Davis, who plays Hogwarts Magical Music teacher Filius Flitwick, will both be there throughout the day to sign autographs and answer questions from fans. Lewis has appeared in all of the Harry Potter films so far, while industry veteran Davis has starred in a host of blockbusters including Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and Willow.
Another special guest attending the show will be Tommy Knight, from the BBC's smash hit Doctor Who children's spin-off series, The Sarah Jane Adventures. Tommy, who plays alien-created child prodigy Luke Smith, will also be taking part in a Q&A session and meeting fans. Created by Russell T. Davies, The Sarah Jane Adventures follow intrepid reporter and former Doctor Who companion Sarah Jane Smith as she and her young friends defend the Earth from extraterrestrial peril.
Visitors to the Midlands MCM Expo will also have the chance to catch some action-packed family entertainment in the shape of Robots Live, the UK's most popular live robotics event. Having wowed crowds at last year's Memorabilia show at the NEC, Behemoth, Terror Hurtz, Storm II and other automated stars of the popular BBC2 series Robot Wars are returning to battle for the glory of being the last 'bot standing.
Alongside Harry Potter, The Sarah Jane Adventures and Robots Live, visitors can look forward to a wide range of fun-packed attractions, from the latest videogames to memorabilia stalls to the Cosplay Masquerade, a spectacular celebration of popular Japanese and Western characters in costume!
